Normalcy may be returning to the troubled group, Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign States of Biafra (MASSOB) as the faction led by comrade Uchenna Madu after its National Executive Council meeting at the weekend at the original headquqrters of MASSOB at Okwe in Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo State, decided to forgive its Founder, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike and return the building which served as the headquarters of the group to him.

According to a press statement issued by the group’s National Director of Information, Samuel Edeson, it stated that MASSOB has equally closed all camps of the group because some people it described as disgruntled elements use the venues to perpetrate criminal activities.

“We refuse to allow the platform reformed MASSOB under the leadership of Comrade Uchenna Madu to be used for breeding anti-social vices that can cause breakdown of law and public disturbances”, part of the statement reads.

Continuing the statement reads, “We will never allow drug peddling and criminal act flourish in our establishments or associate our existence with anti-social vices.

That in the spirit of Igbo cultural values, MASSOB wishes to inform Ndigbo and Biafrans in general that no descent organisation with the peoples mandate flourish in an atmosphere of criminalities, drug peddling, lost focus and sabotage.

That in the spirit of Biafran brotherhood MASSOB has considered forgiving the leader of BIM, Ralph Uwazuruike (former MASSOB leader) who ran away from Okwe on March 15, 2014 and his subsequent expulsion on 30th Nov. 2015 to return to his family house, Okwe which incidentally houses MASSOB headquarters.”

The statement further noted that Uwazuruike’s three-year exile from his family compound is enough punishment. While pledging to continue the struggle without violence under Madu, the group however, announced the operation of a new MASSOB secretariat devoid of camps just as it welcomes other pro Biafra groups.
