The Chairman Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma have re-assured Nigerians of the resolve of Nigerian Governors to proffer achievable reforms to curb the economic challenges while sympathizing with fellow Nigerians over the harsh situation bedevilling the citizenry.

The Imo state Governor and chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodinma stated the following as captured by 9News Nigeria government House correspondent.

Governor Uzodinma said , “Transformative reforms come with some challenges and we sympathize deeply with Nigerians over the current economic challenges, and in taking meaningful measures to address these, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) convened to deliberate on critical issues impacting our nation.

“First, we received and commended the management of Afrexim Bank @afreximbank for its Africa Medical Center of Excellence project, which, in partnership with King’s College Hospital, London, will significantly boost healthcare delivery as this initiative will receive full governmental support.

“During our session, Mr. Mele Kyari OFR, the Group CEO of NNPC Limited @nnpclimited, briefed the Forum on the full removal of subsidy on petroleum products, leading to increase in pump prices and the burden it has placed on Nigerians. He assured us of strategic measures to ease these challenges.

“While these measures are underway, the insight presented by Mr. Adeola Oluwatosin Ajayi MON, DG of the DSS, and a representative from the National Security Advisor’s office are robust to curb insecurity nationwide. However, with collective support from all Nigerians, we are confident these efforts will be effective.

On this development from their meeting, it is therefore a known fact that the economic situation in the country is unfavorable to the citizens across all works of life. It is also a known fact that the Nigeria Governors’ Forum chaired by His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma are making frantic efforts to remedy the situation but the question is, how long can Nigerians be waiting for the actualisation of this economic reform and the possible reduction of fuel pump price to reduce the suffering of inflation rate in Nigeria?
