Noelia Voigt, Miss USA is taking off the crown, about three months ahead of schedule.
The 24-year-old, crowned Miss USA in September announced in an Instagram post on Monday, May 6, that she would be stepping down from the throne to focus on her mental health.
“In life, I strongly value making decisions that feels best for you and your mental health.
“As an individuals, we grow through experiencing different things in life that lead us to learning more about ourselves.
“My journey as Miss USA has been incredibly meaningful, representing Utah with pride, and later the Miss USA at Miss Universe.
“Sadly, I have made the very tough decision to resign from the title of Miss USA 2023”
The Miss USA Pageant said it has accepted Voigt’s resignation, saying:
“We respect and support former Miss USA Noelia Voigt’s decision to step down from her duties.
“The well-being of our title-holders is a top priority, and we understand her need to prioritise herself at this time”
Organisers are reviewing plans for the transition of responsibilities to a successor.
