The President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore Fulani Sociocultural Association, Dr Abdullahi Bello Bodejo, paid tribute to the renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who died at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, ATBUTH, Bauchi on Wednesday night.
Bodejo, also the Sarkin Fulanin Kasar Hausa, said he received the news with deep sorrow and heavy heart, according to the association’s Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Mohammed Tasiu Suleiman, in a statement, described Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi as a renowned Islamic scholar and one of the foremost leaders of the Tijjaniyya Movement in Nigeria and expressed his condolences to the immediate family and Muslim community in the country.
The Miyetti Allah leader noted that the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman was a towering figure in Islamic scholarship, a man of deep faith, humility and wisdom, and prayed that Allah would forgive his shortcomings, accept his noble deeds and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.
“His lifetime was devoted to the propagation of Islam, teaching of the Holy Qur’an, and the moral and spiritual upliftment of humanity. Through his numerous schools and learning centres, he nurtured thousands of students who went on to memorize the Qur’an and spread Islamic knowledge across the African continent”, the statement read further.
He also prayed for the family and followers of the late Islamic scholar, asking that they be granted the strength to bear the loss.
