Efforts by the State Government to enhance sports development, is already yielding positive results as the newly refurbished MKO Abiola Sport Arena will host the friendly match between Nigeria’s Super Falcon and the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon on the 3rd of June, 2025.
In a statement released from the Office of the Honourable Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon Wasiu Isiaka, submitted that the match serves as an opportunity for fans to see their favourite Super Falcons players first hand, as the match promises to be a thrilling experience for football lovers in and around Abeokuta.
The statement also eulogised the Dapo-Abiodun led administration for making the State the prime destination for sports tourism and athletic excellence in the country.
With no entry fee for spectators, the match, billed for 4:00pm, will renew the rivalry between two heavyweights of African women’s football.
The match serves as a key part of Nigeria’s build up to the 2024 Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON), where the Super Falcons will chase a 12th continental title.
