The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has disclosed that the suspected nurse who injected the late rapper, Mohbad, was not their member or associate.
The Lagos state chapter of the association on Saturday described the suspect as an ‘auxiliary nurse’.
NANNM added that “the individual reportedly taken into custody by the police for providing care to Mohbad is not a registered nurse.”
The association urged news platforms to always “verify the qualifications and professional status of individuals before labelling them as healthcare professionals.”
The NANNM further listed the requirements to become a nurse in Nigeria.
Expressing its condolences to the family and associates of the late musician, the association admitted that it is in full support of the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death and urges the relevant authorities to leave no stone unturned”.
