Governor, Anambra State Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has said that in less than two years the birth rate in the state has drastically increased from 200 – 1,600 per month.

Soludo disclosed this at the 65th birthday ceremony of Sir Emeka Offor in Oraifite, Ekwusigo Local Government Area of the State at the weekend.

The governor said when he assumed office as the governor, “the total birth rate per month was 200, but today it has gone up to 1,600 birth rate with zero mortality”.

He said this was due to the investment the state government had made in health sector.

He commended Sir Offor for living an impactful life and reaching out to the poor and widows.

Speaking at the ceremony, Sir Offor thanked friends and well-wishers for celebrating with him on his 65th birthday, promising to spend the rest of his life serving God and humanity.
