The drama surrounding the Okoye family and the Psquare brand has reignited as Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P, took to social media today to accuse his elder brother, Jude Okoye, of attempting to sabotage his solo music career.
Mr. P claims that Jude, the former manager of Psquare, is working behind the scenes to have his latest song, Winning, removed from streaming platforms.
In a social media post, Mr. P said, “After Jude will come and lie to the public that he has had nothing to do with Psquare for 8 years but he is the one making phone calls and writing letters to make sure my song Winning is taken down from all platforms. SMH.”
The statement hints at an ongoing rift between the brothers, which first became public in 2017 when Psquare disbanded after a series of disagreements.
Since then, the brothers—Peter and Paul Okoye—have pursued separate careers as Mr. P and Rudeboy, respectively, with Jude stating he no longer manages either of them.
However, Mr. P’s post today suggests that tensions remain high and that Jude may still be involved in influencing their individual careers.
Mr. P, one-half of the iconic Nigerian music duo Psquare, alleged that Jude has been making calls and sending letters to prevent his song’s success.
Fans reacted swiftly on social media, expressing frustration over the continued discord within the Okoye family, which has affected one of Nigeria’s most beloved music groups.
Jude Okoye has not yet responded to Mr. P’s claims, but the post has stirred conversations in the music industry about the complexities of family dynamics within high-profile entertainment partnerships.
Mr. P’s latest release, Winning, has been gaining traction, and his allegations against his brother have added new layers of interest and intrigue surrounding the song.
