Renowned music executive, Dayo Adeneye, popularly known as D1, has said it’s now difficult for artists of this generation to make conscious music because of the level of moral deprecation.
In the latest episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast, D1 said conscious music would not be sold in today’s world.
“Right now, the world is not ready to listen to anything conscious. Is it this generation that doesn’t know their gender that you want to preach conscious lyrics to?
“Today, someone with beards would tell you, ‘I’m Linda’. Is it that kind of person you want to preach conscious lyrics to?”
D1 also said a lot of women of this generation are materialistic, usually providing sex to men for value.
