Muslim nations have rejected the alleged Gaza population transfer plan, calling it an evil Israeli plan to disenfranchise the ethnic Palestinians. The statement strongly rejects the Israeli plan and says the Palestinians must and will remain on their land, irrespective of what Tel Aviv aims to do.
The joint statement, issued late Friday by the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar, expresses “absolute rejection of any attempts to expel the Palestinian people from their land.”
The statement added that the Rafah crossing with Egypt must be kept open in both directions, ensuring free movement of the local population.
There is an urgent need to implement the US-backed peace plan in Gaza without further delay, it added.
The Ministers from all Muslim nations highlighted the necessity for full adherence to the plan proposed by the US President Donald Trump,” the statement said.
It called upon Israel to end its ongoing military operations, triggering more suffering in the vulnerable population in Gaza.
The statement came after Israel’s latest announcements over the Rafah crossing on Wednesday.
On Wednesday,Israel’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories announced that it would reopen the border to allow the residents to exit Gaza to Egypt, under the EU Border Assistance Mission.
The coordinator further said that it was ready to cooperate with the international community on implementing UNSCR 2334 and other relevant UN resolutions, aiming for “a just, comprehensive, and sustainable peace” based on the two-state solution, with East Jerusalem as the capital of an independent Palestinian state.
