A heartbreaking tragedy has struck a family in Ado Ekiti, as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Caleb Leramo and his wife lost their lives in a violent domestic altercation.
The son has now revealed details of their final moments together, shedding light on the shocking nature of the incident.
According to the son, the couple showed no visible signs of conflict before the fatal night.
In a video obtained by newsmen, he recounted that his parents spent the evening playing, laughing, and praying together.
“My father and my mum were playing that night. When my mum cooked, she left briefly to visit her sick grandma. My dad even waited for her before eating. When she return around 9 pm. We all ate together, played, talked. My father later took his Bible and prayed before asking me to go to bed”, the son narrated.
However, what stated as a peaceful evening took a a tragic dimension in the middle of the night.
The son said he was awakened by the disturbing sounds of a struggle between his parents.
“I was hearing sounds, so I woke my sister. We realized our parents were fighting. My sister tried to open the door, but it was locked. My dad was shouting, and my mum too. We ran to call our neighbors, who eventually forced the door open. That was when we saw both of them dead”.
Reports suggest that during the altercation, ASP Leramo’s wife’s allegedly attacked him with sharp object, severing his manhood.
He bleed profusely before retaliating with a machete, inflicting fatal injuries on her.
The Nigerian Police Force has confirmed the deaths, describing the incident as a tragic and unfortunate case of domestic violence.
The authorities are expected to conduct further Investigations into the circumstances leading to the fatal confrontation.
