Nigerian Polytechnic students have collaborated with Domak Group International for a land and housing investment scheme.
The NAPS President Comrade Opeyemi Ridwan recently stated this in an interaction with Journalists.
He said “The leadership of NAPS is coming up with an initiative to partner with Domak Group International, where all interested students and Youths can own a piece of land in their respective state including FCT with just 350 per day for just three (3) years”.
The NAPS president further stated that the challenges facing Nigerian students and youths in terms of accommodation and housing across the country is worrisome and demoralizing.
He added, “There have been significant shifts in home and land ownership patterns that have had a profound impact on society. Some parents’ generation benefited from economic prosperity and government programs that promoted home and land ownership in the past.
“In contrast, this generation has faced several challenges in achieving home and land ownership due to factors such as rising housing costs, land disputes, access to affordable housing, mortgage rates, and income inequality have contributed to lower home and land ownership rates”.
The student union leader further added that the availability of affordable housing is another critical factor influencing home and land ownership trends while revealing housing costs have skyrocketed in many urban areas making it challenging for individuals with moderate incomes to afford a home.
He, however, urged students to key into the initiatives in order to solve the perennial housing currently faced by students in the country.
