Nasarawa House Of Assembly Gets New Speaker, Deputy

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly (NSHA) has elected Danladi Jatau who represents Kokona West Connstituency as its new speaker.

Similarly, the House on Friday elected Mohammad Oyanki (PDP, Doma North) as Deputy speaker.

This came barely few days after the Court of Appeal sacked the then speaker, Ibrahim Abdullahi Balarabe as member representing Ugya/ Umaisha Constituency and declared PDP’s Abdullahi Sa’ad winner of the 2033 poll.

The duo were subsequently administered oaths of office. Oyanki succeeded iAbel Bala, a second term serving member representing Nasarawa Eggon West Connstituency.

Governor Abdullahi Sule had earlier presented the 2024 Appropriation Bill of 199.8 Billion to the House presided by Abel Bala as the acting speaker.

The Bill for the 2024 Fiscal year presented by Governor Sule was tagged “Budget of Renewed Commitment”.
