The National Health Insurance Authority, NHIA, has confirmed that its official website is fully operational.
This was revealed by Head of Media and Public Relations at NHIA, Emmanuel Ononokpono, while briefing reporters in Abuja, noting that the NHIA website, www.nhia.gov.ng, is active and accessible to the public.
Ononokpono used the opportunity to address an inaccurate report that referenced the website of the now-defunct National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, the NHIA’s predecessor.
He explained that the website mentioned in the report belonged to the old NHIS and was currently being decommissioned as part of the transition to the upgraded NHIA digital platform.
Ononokpono, stressed that the NHIA’s current website, launched three months ago, features significant upgrades to support data migration and improve the user experience for stakeholders.
The president therefore urged media professionals to verify information with the agency before publication to prevent the spread of misinformation.
“We value and welcome feedback from our stakeholders and encourage media professionals to contact us for accurate information and clarifications before publishing reports,” he said.
He therefore reaffirmed NHIA’s commitment to transparent communication and providing accessible digital services for all stakeholders in Nigeria’s health insurance sector.
