The People of Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo state Nigeria have and Imo state at large have lost another grassroot politician, ICHIE Chika Nwanesi who hails from Avu.
The news of his death came as a rude shock to the political class and the generality of Owerri West.
Our correspondent reports that the people of Avu are deeply mourning this politics sage on the grounds that, the zone truly lost a political gem whose in his lifetime projected the image of his community, the LGA and Zonal politics and brought back governance back home in the area.
Nwanesi who worked in various leadership positions during his lifetime and severed in the Owerri west local government area council sn an honourable member, had brought a new dimension of politics in the zone. He loves the upcomers in the political space which was established even when he was the DG of Buchi Oparaugo campaign council.
Late Nwanesi brought the media practitioners to work for the upliftment of Owerri West politics. His feat in the propagation of Buchi’s campaign mantra was a enormous and memorable.
During his lifetime, he played remarkable roles in politics which earned him alot of definitions of his personality by different circle of politicians.
He was the indefatigable Director General- DG of Buchi Oparaugo Campaign Organization which project the New comer to higher light in Owerri zone and Imo state politics.
Meanwhile, Ichie Chika Nwanesi passed on at the time when the people of Owerri West needed him most.
His burial is taking place at the time of this report by 9News Nigeria Owerri, at his home, Umuehieta, Avu, in Owerri West.
Members of the leading All Progressives Congress APC trooped out en-masse to pay Ichie Chika Nwanesi the last respect.
Most importantly, the LGA party chairman, Humphrey Umunakwe hails from the late Iche Nwanesi’s Constituency.
Speaking with cross camps of political scientists and sympathizers at the burial site, Owerri west and indeed Imo state have lost a political gladiator an icon and a political encyclopedia as gathered by 9News Nigeria.
His burial featured the Majority Leader IMHA Rt Hon Kanayo Onyemaechi, Barr Bethel Nzimako, High Chief Oyiga among other Leaders of APC in Avu and Owerri West at large and colony of media houses across the zone because of his relationship with the people and mostly the press when he was alive.
He left after him his lovely wife and children and a cross board of various political class, friends and well wishers who trooped out en-masse to witness the burial of this rear gem Chika Nwanesi.
