A video was trapped by the media team at a tip off from Nekede people and residents in the area who alerted that the video record is destroying the road construction going on along FEDPONEK/Nekede/ Ihiagwa road.
The press team visited the said site this morning to ascertain the actual position of the road and confirmed that a particular spot was pulled down by the rain few days ago.
Meanwhile, the video is said to be discrediting the good works of the Government of Imo state under his distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma who took it upon himself to award the said road for Immediate construction.
Recall that this particular Polythecnic Nekede/ Ihiagwa road was neglected and abandoned by previous Government until the APC Government took over to construct the 45km road.
The truth of the matter is that the work need to be supervised by experts while the contractors speed up to complete the project.
However, the video that got tracked which is trending all over the world has discredited and criticized this good work by Imo state government.
A critical look at the video was quoted that the work by Imo state government was SUB-STANDARD”
Our source at Nekede Owerri west told us that the video was done by a PDP STRONG BONE at ward 7 Nekede who’s interest is to ridicule governor hope Uzodinma’s APC Government.
The source hinted that the video has also caused discord and hatred to party faithful and the good people of the area who had earlier Expressed happiness to governor Uzodinma for remembering the road after previous Government failed to work on it.
On a chat with the press, a Community leader who pleaded anonymousity told us that the video is a ploy to destroy APC at the ward and LGA.
While speaking with the workers on site, he engineers adviced the people of Nekede to be very appreciative of the Government of Imo state no matter who the governor is and most importantly when the Government is doing good work to the people.
The men on site told the press that Government was not the cause of the damage on the spot that got eroded by flood.
This morning I went to the alleged trouble spot to confirm the actual position of the damage as the video had cliamed.Work is seriously going on as scheduled and the engineers confirmed that they were at work when the heavy rain met them leaving the work uncompleted.
They added that the spot was not “coupled” at the arrival of the down pour on that fateful day and the engineers said that the water flow pulled down the work which they said it is not a problem.
This morning the engineers were sighted working on the road from that particular point of damage onwards.
Pls, it is good when we are report, we try to balance out stories. As least, record has it that so far, the Government of Hope Uzodinma is favourable to Ndi Nekede and Owerri West at large. The road OKOROCHA AND IHEDIOHA could not do, Uzodinma is seriously constructing to make it’s users happy.
We have to thank them for the little they’re doing to enable them do more for Nekede.
The spot is @ Galaxy Hostel by Holy Family Junction. Imo people can go for confirmation while calling on Government representatives in the area to do the needful at the GRASSROOTS.
A call to the house of ASSEMBLY member who doubles as the majority leader of the state house, Hon KANAYO ONYEMAECHI and the Nekede ward-7 Councilor Hon. Okpe Chikadibia to address this issue did not go through at the time of this report.
