Nekede Polytechnic rector, Igbokwe pays community familiarization visit to HRH Eze Omadike

The 9th substantive Rector of the prestigious Federal Polytechnic Nekede, FPNO, Dr Mrs. Basilia Igbokwe paid a familiarization visit to the Traditional Ruler HRH Eze Morrison Sorronnadi Eke Ph.D and the Umuoma Nekede community Wednesday 06, 2024 as a show of respect to the Monarch in partnership with all the FPNO host communities.

Dr Igbokwe’s visit was accompanied by the management staff of Federal Polytechnic Nekede targetted at her routine assignment to familiarize with Nekede host Communities which Umuoma Autonomous Community in Owerri west local government area is inclusive as the press authoritatively reports.

The courtesy visit was apt and official having taken over her duties as the officially recognized Rector of the FEDPONEK. The event was traditional hosted at the palace of the Traditional Ruler Eze Omadike of Umuoma Nekede with colorful and open hearted reception.

Speaking, Dr Basila Igbokwe stated that her visit to Umuoma Nekede Traditional Ruler HRH Eze Morrison SJ Eke -Omadike was to officially inform the monarch that FEDPONEK now have her as the Rector.

She seized the opportunity to solicit for the blessing of the Traditional Ruler and the generality of Umuoma people to support her leadership and feel free to contribute meaningful advise and ideas and harmonic relationship and love to progress and develop Nekede Federal polytechnic.

While stating her golden promises to host community, Dr Igbokwe maintained that a tree cannot make a forest. She further pleaded with Umuoma people , the Three Traditional Rulers and Nekede community at large to assist the institution to attract more growth to the benefit of the students, staff and ndi Nekede.

While adding that both the FPNO and the Umuoma , Nekede community are working towards the same goal and partnership to make develop FEDPONEK and make it maintain high standard of Human discipline, development and academic feats as the best school in Nigeria.

Eze Omadike has earlier assured the new Rector and her school management of his unreserved support and prayed for God to grant her the needed wisdom, good health , strength and ideas to take the school to another greater heights in all ramification.

Omadike also appealed to FEDPONEK management and staffers to as a matter of importance, endeavour to work together with Dr (Mrs ) Basilia Igbokwe to surpass the existing legacies of previous administrations and Rectors, mostly that of x-rector of the school Dr Celina Njoku.

He added that ndi Umuoma also feel the heat of good ,bad and urgly tussle bedeviling the leadership of the school while stating that Nekede as an entity irrespective of internal differences and autonomous status still share same infrastructural facilities, transformer, electricity, water, good road among other public facilities. He however noted that once a while they will like to denigrate the Nekede sacred grit but promised the Rector of every possible assistance she’ll request to prosper in her tenure.

While offering prayers to the Rector, HRH Omadike through his community Chaplain , Pastor John Ibe prayed God to grant the woman Rector, Basilia Igbokwe the enablement and good advisers to direct and lead the school alright.

Onye Eze Omadike, pleaded with the Umuoma Nekede people, staff, students and management of Fedponek to subject to the edicts of supreme higher Powers because such Powers are ordained by God. He warned that anyone that resist the ordinances of God will certainly fall prey to the wrath of God from whom such Powers are made, just as God has placed her on the throne as 9th substantive Rector.

Speaking at the palace, HRH Omadike also called on his subjects cum Indigenous staff working and serving under the new Rector of Fedponek to be obedient to the Rector and work with her, hand in glove to improve the school. He warned that anyone found wanted in any form of disobedience against the leadership under the authority of the capacity woman Rector would be punished by the laws of the land and treated the same as the Governing law of the Federal Republic stipulates.

The visit was an epoc-making one that turned out creme-de-creme of notable personalities too numerous to mention which included Umuoma community leaders, Umuoma People’s Assembly UPA officials led by PG DIKEOHA Okechukwu Opara, Royal cabinet, Traditional prime minister TPM Nze Aharanwa, Ndi Nze na Ozor, the Chiefs, Prophet (High Chief) Dom Daniel Anyanwu and the clergy.

Also spotted by 9News Nigeria are: The DPO Umuoma Police Division and his gallant team, neighborhood representatives in the community and the vigilante group, Hotel and business managers , Youths, and Umuoma women group ably led by Lady Maureen Ukanyirioha and her efficient executive members and other stakeholders in Umuoma Nekede.

The media, gentleman of the press, Umuoma Community Public Relation Manager, and some government functionaries were present at the cocktail reception to welcome Dr Basilia Igbokwe and her to the palace of his Traditional Ruler HRH Eze Omadike.

The visit featured categories of presentation of gifts to the lovely guest and Rector, from the Royal palace and other groups as 9News Nigeria reports.
