Never look back, Sen Udende charges repentant bandits

Benue North East Senator Barr. Emmanuel Memga Udende has been speaking to some outlaws who have embraced the on-going Peace initiative for a crime free Sankera intermediate bloc never to look back on their old ways going forward.

He reiterated the charge, earlier today, at his home town, Tse Akume Udende, Tsaav, Ukum Local Government Area (LGA), Benue State, during the burial ceremony of Late Mrs Tabitah Mwuese Udende who succumbed to death after a brief illness.

The Senate Committee Chairman on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes who was accompanied by his wife Mrs Mchivir Udende seized the opportunity of funeral oration, making a strong appeal to all the repentant bandits in Sankera not to be misled by whatever reason to go back to criminality again. He noted that it’s better to live a free life than continuously been in hideouts for fear of the unknown.

“If you genuinely repented, you can always count on my support when in need. As your Senator I welcome legal means of livelihood. Currently, I have influenced important projects to our communities. Please cooperate with the contractors who are on site to complete the Bridge at Afia as well as the extension of electricity project from Zaki-Biam to Gbagir Market, through Afia to Gbeji. These projects will boost economic activities. Let’s join hands together and protect the engineers on both sites,” Sen Udende pleaded.

He further called on unity of purpose among the people in order to attract more development projects in Ukum, Sankera and entirety of Benue North East.

Senator Udende also prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest, while giving the bereaving family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
