The Niger State Government has conducted a mass burial for victims of the petrol tanker explosion that occurred in Essa village, Katcha Local Government Area and has approved a comprehensive free medical treatment for survivors of the tragedy.
This disclosure was made on Thursday in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Bologi Ibrahim.
Ibrahim says the decision follows the visit of state government delegation led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Duties, Murtala Bagana, to the scene of the explosion and hospital were the injured victims are receiving treatment.
It was confirmed in the statement that a mass burial was conducted for the deceased victims in Katcha, with special prayers held for the repose of their souls and quick recovery for the injured.
Recall over 40 people were confirmed dead, with many injured in a tragic tanker explosion that ensued along Essa village, Katcha Local Government Area of Niger State on Tuesday.
