Few hours ago, Nigeria Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP) Consultative Forum was held in Owerri the capital city of Imo state where notable oil and gas experts were in attendance.

Indeed, “IMO READY FOR INVESTMENT IN OIL AND GAS SECTOR” – OPIAH

9News Nigeria gathered that the Coordinator for Pertroleum and Gas Matter/SA to the Governor, Rt. Hon. Goodluck Nanah Opiah, has assured that Imo State is ready to recieve investors in the oil and gas sector of the state economy.

Opiah gave the assurance while speaking at the Nigeria Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP) Consultative Forum held at Rockview Hotel, Owerri, adding that the State Government led by Senator Hope Uzodimma has created the enabling environment for investors to settle and do business in the State.

He however stated that Imo is lucky to be the center of oil and gas industry at this moment and assured the people the readiness and willingness of Government of Imo State to welcome investors in the oil and gas sector.

Opiah maintained that Government has created the enabling environment for investors in the oil and gas sector.

Meanwhile, the Governor has reiterated at different fora that the State is safe for all investors to settle and do their business.

“We have ensured that peace reigns in the oil producing communities and Imo is the most peaceful area in the Niger Delta where oil producing companies operate.

“Oil producing communities are in dire need of development from both the Federal Government and the oil producing companies”.

It was a great outing but the people of the state were not comfortable with the Presentations of the speaker of the state house of Assembly whose protocols officers were found wanting in the process of the summit.
