In everything that man has ever dreaded in life, beyond the pleasures and beauty of this world, death has been the most wretched enemy.
It comes in without notice, taking away the breath of the ones that make us happy, living us painfully speechless. Regardless of how much wealth we’ve acquired, fame, position, possessions, when it comes, it takes everything away.
The only thing we can leave behind is our legacy – the lives we’ve touched and how the world has become better because we came. But for the loved ones who leave before us, we can only wish they had not gone.
Truly, we are saddened by the sudden demise of a renown journalist, Chukwuma Onuekwusi – Channels Television state house correspondent, who passed away yesterday at a private hospital in Abuja due to an illness.
Late Chukwuma Onuekwusi graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He joined Channels Television in 1998, after working with the Imo State Broadcasting Corporation as an announcer, newscaster, reporter on both radio and television.
He reported extensively on elections that brought in past presidents in Nigeria like former president Olusegun Obasanjo, late president Musa Ya’adua, and former president Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
He was nominated for the Nigeria Media Merit award in 2001.
May his soul rest in peace.
