President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced that Nigeria has achieved its 2025 annual revenue target in August.
Speaking at an engagement in Abuja on Tuesday, the President emphasized that the Federal Government has not resorted to borrowing from local banks this year, describing the development as a significant step toward fiscal stability.
According to him, it was achieved well ahead of schedule, driven largely by improved performance in non-oil revenue sources.
“Today, I can say with confidence that Nigeria is not borrowing from local banks. We have met our revenue target for the entire year, and we achieved this in August through non-oil revenues. With non-oil revenue performing strongly, we have no cause for concern about external economic factors,” Tinubu stated.
