Global coalition against corruption, Transparency International has ranked Nigeria as the 36th most corrupt country in the world.
The ranking, based on the organization’s annual Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI), highlights persistent governance and accountability challenges in Africa’s largest economy.
Despite ongoing anti-corruption efforts, Nigeria continues to struggle with issues such as bribery, embezzlement, and weak institutional oversight.
Transparency International’s report indicates the need for stronger enforcement of anti-corruption laws, greater transparency in public institutions, and enhanced accountability measures to improve Nigeria’s standing on the global corruption index.
