Nigeria Ranks 105th in 2025 World Happiness Report

Nigeria has been ranked 105th out of 147 countries in the 2025 World Happiness Report.

The annual report, published by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, evaluates global happiness levels based on factors such as income, life expectancy, freedom, corruption, and social trust.

While Nigeria’s ranking places it in the lower half of the index, it underscores ongoing challenges in governance, economic development, and public welfare.

Nordic countries once again dominated the top spots, with Finland, Denmark, and Iceland leading the list.

In contrast, nations facing political instability and economic hardship ranked lower.

The report highlights the need for strategic policies to enhance citizens’ well-being, particularly in areas of economic growth, healthcare, and governance.

This calls for increased investment in social infrastructure to improve the country’s ranking in future assessments.

Despite the challenges, Nigeria continues to show resilience, with citizens expressing optimism about potential reforms and development efforts aimed at improving overall happiness and quality of life.
