Armed robbers have stormed the apartment of a Nigerian businessman in Paris, getting away with some €800,000 euros (₦346 Million Naira) worth of luxury bags and cash, sources said on Thursday.
9News Nigeria learnt from sources who know about the robbery that the burglary took place on Wednesday morning in an upscale building in the 16th district of Paris, the French capital.
The robbers were wearing surgical masks, and they rang the doorbell of the apartment pretending to be health service men, and they succeeded in entering the apartment. Then they threatened the businessman with a handgun.
They failed to make him open his safe but still got away with the bags and around 3,000 euros in cash all together amounting about €800,000 euros (₦346 Million Naira) .
Paris has in recent years become notorious for robberies and muggings of rich individuals targeted by criminals looking for luxury items such as jewellery and watches.
Recall that in October 2016 Kim Kardashian West, American Reality TV star was robbed of millions of Euros at gunpoint at a luxury residence in Paris by at least two men dressed as police officers.
