Nigerian Government Seeks Digital Solution to Covid-19, Directs NCC, NITDA, Other Agencies On Tech Driven Remedy.
The Nigerian Government has directed agencies under the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy to workout a digital solution research grant that will help the nation come out with technologies to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Pantami gave the directive shortly before announcing the winner of the Nigeria COVID-19 Innovation Challenge organized by the National Information and Technology Development Agency (NITDA).
The Minister also asked NITDA to start incubation programme for the winner of the challenge saying that the effort of NITDA in using technology in fighting the pandemic is appreciated by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Five finalist out of over 200 innovators across Nigeria took part in the challenge at the Final Demo and Prizing Giving Day, which was held through video conference from Abuja, the Nigerian capital city with key stakeholders in the industry taking part.
