Nigerian man cancels wedding twice with same woman over Genotype incompatibility

A Nigerian man, Muhammad Ibrahim, from Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, has cancelled his wedding to his long time fiancee for the second time due to genetic incompatibility.

According to Ibrahim, the Wedding Fatiha was initially scheduled for November 8, 2024, but it was postponed after the couple discovered they both carry the AS genotype, a combination that poses significant health risks for the children, according medical experts.

Despite the hope of finding a resolution, a second wedding date was set for November 29, 2024, only to be cancelled again for same reason.

In In his emotional and heartbreaking post, Ibrahim expressed his devastation, stating: “Dear friends and family, It’s with an incredibly heavy heart that I regretfully announce the cancellation of my upcoming wedding. Due to the unforseen genetic compatibility issues, my partner and I have made the difficult decision to go our separate ways…we were both eager to start our life together, but unfortunately, our genotypes (AS + AS = !) posed insurmountable health risks”.

He further requested prayers and support as he struggles to come to terms with the turn of events, describing the situation as a “dark hour” in his life.

However, the story has sparked widespread reactions online, with many commending Ibrahim and his fiancee for prioritizing their future children’s health despite their love for each other.
