Nigerian man commits suicide over wife infidelity in Nasarawa community

A thirty-eight-year old man, Gabriel Iliya Magaji a resident of Masaka in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, has reportedly commitment suicide over alleged infidelity by his wife.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident to newsmen on Lafia, Nasarawa State, on Wednesday.

Açcording to DSP Ramhan, a report was received on Monday around 7am from a staff member of Crystal School Masaka, indicating that an unidentified man was found hanging in one of the classrooms at the school.

“Upon receiving the report, the DPO and his team went to the scene, removed the body, and took it to the General Hospital Mararaba, where the death was confirmed by a doctor. The body has been deposited in the morgue”, DSP Ramhan said.

He noted that the suicide note was found with the deceased. As a result, the Police have launched a thorough investigation to the circumstances surrounding his death.

Regarding the allegations that the man may have committed suicide because his friends were involved with his wife, DSP Ramhan stated that he could not confirm the claims until the conclusion o of investigations.
