A Nigerian man resident in Malaysia has been reported dead in a Malaysian prison after contracting some undisclosed infections while serving in the prison.
According to information made available to 9News Nigeria Malaysian correspondent, the man whose only known name was Onyebuchi Benco, was arrested last year in his apartment during Covid-19 lockdown. It was gathered that he was a footballer, but was arrested for a visa-related offence and was incarcerated before his death this week.
The news of his death was released to the Nigerian community in Malaysia on Monday 8th March 2021.
Before his arrest last year, Onyebuchi Benco lived in Putra Perdana Puchong Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia.
