Nigerian Man stabbed during Crossover Night in Jos set to be buried January 4

A Nigerian man, Jesse Longji Dabit, who died after being stabbed by phone snatchers during the 2025 Crossover Night celebration in Jos, is set to be buried on January 4, 2025 in his hometown, Jibilik, Pankshin Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The tragic incident occurred in the early hours of New Year’s Day around the popular British American Junction in Jos, where thousands had gathered to celebrate the crossover into the New Year.

Jesse was reportedly attacked and stabbed by phone snatchers who fled the scene, leaving him critically injured.

Sympathizers immediate immediately rushed him to the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, JUTH, for urgent medical attention.

However, he succumbed to his injuries hours later due to excessive blood loss before reaching the hospital.

Jesse who was 30 years old, is being mourned by family and friends with condolence messages flooding the media.

A funeral poster announcing his burial has also gone viral, showing the grief and sorrow his death had caused.

His family has confirmed that his burial will take place on Saturday January 4, 2025, as the prepare to lay him to rest.
