Former Federal Commissioner for Public Complaints Commission, Prince Ik Samben Nwosu has expressed gratitude to Nigerians for the honour and respect done late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah at his funeral.
He said that though Ubah lived short life, that the crowd and number of personalities who attended his burial signified that the late Senator lived impactful life.
He described Ubah as a destiny child, adding that he was not the first Senator to be buried in Nigeria but that his funeral attracted people from all walks of life both big and small who lamented his demise. He said that showed his greatness.
“I feel that I were God, I would have extended his life span. But no one can question God.
‘Take it or leave it the Nigerian people are talking about his benevolence, the Nigerian people are talking about his achievements, his capacity and his large heart.
“In his lifetime he attended his functions in person not by proxy and I’m sure that is one of the reasons the Church is filled to the brim. I’m glad that people came out enmass to give him a befitting burial. It’s a payback time.
“I’m impressed and I thank security agents for their dedication to duty to secure Nnewi community to ensure a peaceful burial event.
“We continue to pray God to grant his soul eternal rest, “he added.
On how to immortalize late Ubah, Prince Nwosu said that could be done in so many ways but should not be done in a hurry.
“If you talk about immortalization, should I start from the church, community or even the nation at large. Ubah touched so many human beings, institutions, organizations, among others positively.
“Anytime Ndigbo had problems in Lagos, they would call Ifeanyi to intervene. He would broker peace because he knew how to make peace between or among parties in a dispute.
“He equally forgave his enemies. He was a hero.
“Nobody is without shortcomings, that is true. But the areas I agree with him are more than the areas I disagree with him.
“We shall sit back and have a serious thought on how to immortalize him, “Prince Nwosu concluded.
