Former Anambra State governor and presidential candidate for the Labour Party, Peter Obi has decried the epileptic electricity supply and power failures in Nigeria saying that it has unfortunately remained a matter of deep concern.
The 2023 presidential candidate who has won the hearts of the majority of Nigerian youths lamented that even though South Africa which is the second biggest economy in the continent of Africa has a population of over 60 million, yet, it generates over 50,000 megawatts compared to Nigeria which has over 200 million population but barely generates 4,000 megawatts of electricity supply.
Mr Obi said that Nigeria should take a cue from global governance best practices; grasp what people-oriented leadership is all about and rise up for effective change.
Peter Obi made this statement through his official Twitter account where he posted “Nigeria’s epileptic electricity supply remains a matter of deep concern. Although South Africa, the second biggest economy on the continent has a population of over 60 million and generates over 50,000 megawatts.”
