Port Harcourt, Rivers State* — The Chief Executive Officer of Odibola Properties Limited, Mr. Sunny Bolaji Oshobukola, has strongly denied allegations linking his company to land grabbing activities in Rivers State, insisting that the real estate firm operates within the bounds of the law and deals directly with legitimate property owners.
Oshobukola made the clarification when the 9News Nigeria Bureau Chief, South-South, Ambassador Emmalex David Atseyinku, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief Executive Officer at the company’s office.
During the visit, the 9News Nigeria reporter sought clarification from Oshobukola concerning allegations circulating over disputed land located behind the OPM Church area in Aluu, Rivers State, and claims on social media suggesting that Odibola Properties Limited may have been connected to the disputed property.
Responding to the allegations, Oshobukola maintained that he has never engaged in land grabbing and would not participate in any activity capable of damaging the reputation and credibility he has built over the years.
According to him, Odibola Properties Limited has built its brand around integrity, transparency and legitimate real estate transactions. stressing that the company conducts its business by dealing with property owners and ensuring that transactions are properly established.
“I can never get into land-grabbing activities. I have integrity, and I have laboured for a long time to build my brand as Odibola Properties,” Oshobukola stated.
He said the company has worked consistently to establish itself as a legitimate real estate brand in Rivers State and Nigeria, adding that he would not jeopardise the reputation of the organisation through involvement in unlawful acquisition or appropriation of other people’s property.
The Odibola Properties CEO further explained that the company does not take possession of properties belonging to individuals without legitimate transactions with the rightful owners.
According to him, the company’s approach is to identify properties and engage directly with those who have legitimate ownership or authority over the properties before entering into transactions.
He said allegations suggesting otherwise were misleading and capable of creating unnecessary damage to the company’s reputation.
Oshobukola also alleged that some individuals were unhappy with the progress recorded by Odibola Properties in the real estate sector and had allegedly resorted to social media campaigns against the company.
He questioned the motive behind some of the online publications, claiming that certain individuals had presented themselves as bloggers while allegedly being paid to attack the reputation of his company.
However, he maintained that the company was not worried by such allegations, saying that its records and transactions could speak for themselves.
Addressing a specific claim concerning the disputed property behind OPM Church in Aluu, Oshobukola categorically denied having any business transaction with the family of Amaewhule.
“I didn’t do any business with Amaewhule’s family, and they never sold any land to me,” he said.
The CEO maintained that Odibola Properties should not be associated with the alleged transaction, insisting that the company’s position on the matter was clear.
He further called on members of the public to examine the available facts and the company’s track record rather than relying solely on claims circulating on social media.
Oshobukola reiterated that integrity remains central to the identity of Odibola Properties Limited.
He said the company would continue to avoid transactions that do not meet its standards of legitimacy and proper ownership documentation.
“Odibola Properties is a brand that has never been involved in land grabbing, and we can’t because we so much believe in integrity. That’s our motto,” he said.
He added: “If it is not genuine, we don’t get involved.”
The CEO’s comments come amid continuing public discussions and allegations surrounding disputed land transactions in parts of Rivers State, including the Aluu axis.
While Oshobukola has rejected the allegations against his company, any claims concerning ownership or title to the disputed property remain matters that may ultimately be determined by the relevant documents, authorities or courts with jurisdiction.
The interview was conducted during a courtesy visit by Ambassador Emmalex David Atseyinku, 9News Nigeria Bureau Chief, South-South, as part of efforts to obtain the company’s response to the allegations and present its position to the public.
