He is a notable Nollywood actor, reality show host and brand ambassador who has helped shape the highly competitive home movie industry. Having been around the North, West and Eastern Nigeria due to circumstances of birth and educational pursuit, he speaks the three major languages. Meet Chidi Mokeme.
He was born on March 17, 1972 and is an indigene of Anambra State. He had his early education at Salvation Army Primary School, Surulere Lagos. He proceeded to the Federal Government College, Minna, Niger State, where he completed his secondary education.
He thereafter went to the Institute of Management Technology (IMT), Enugu where he graduated with a degree in Computer Science. Chidi came into limelight when he anchored the first two editions of the Gulder Ultimate search talent hunt show.
He started out as a model. His job was to represent brands. He was once a brand ambassador of a telecommunications company called Zodaphone According to Chidi Mokeme, what inspires him to act in a movie is that, the story must be relevant and it must be a story he can relate to and connect with. He also believes in working with people he can get along with. He also has a production outfit.
According to him, he is happy his parents gave him the opportunity to acquaint himself with the whole of Nigeria. He had his primary education in the West, his secondary education in the North and his tertiary education in the East. He says that he would give his kids that opportunity to know all parts of the world too. He speaks Yoruba and has appeared in a couple of Yoruba movies. He also speaks Hausa and of course his native language, Igbo.
Chidi got married to his wife Dr. Jean Chinwe Olumba at Our Saviour’s Church, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos on Saturday, April 28, 2012 and they welcomed their son, Noah Mokeme on March 11, 2015. She is a Pharmacist and medical doctor practicing in the United States of America. Chinwe is a Nigerian, born and bred in the United States. On Sunday, May 17, 2015, he had the child dedication ceremony of his son at St. Pauls’ Anglican Church, Lagos.
