The Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) has coordinated a joint task force involving the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Kaduna Command, the Nigerian Army, and the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to intensify efforts on the restoration and security of the 330kV Shiroro-Kaduna power lines following recent acts of vandalism.

In a statement released today by the Special Adviser on Public Communication and National Orientation to the President of Nigeria, Sunday Dare, the collaborative initiative aims to safeguard critical infrastructure while ensuring swift power restoration.

TCN teams, backed by security forces, have located the damage on the power towers and are actively working to repair Line 2.

According to the authorities, this line is expected to be restored shortly, with work on Line 1 to follow promptly after.

Additionally, TCN is preparing to supply an interim 400 megawatts to the affected northern regions through an alternative route, the Ugwuaji-Apir line—in order to mitigate the power deficit caused by the vandalism.
