Comrade Sanusi Oluwaleke Naphtali, the Student Union Government President of Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa has revealed his plans beyond his initial manifesto for next year (2024.)
He emphasizes the importance of not only addressing internal student welfare but also ensuring a good quality of life for students outside the school environment.
The president discloses a collaborative effort with the OGITECH Igbesa Forum involving the school community, management, and the host community. A major discussion point was the issues students face with landlords. The SUG president asserts that a working agreement has been established, preventing unjust evictions, with non-compliant landlords to be reported to the forum.
To address concerns promptly, Sanusi introduces a welfare WhatsApp group where students facing issues with landlords or departments can report problems. He underscores the importance of open communication to create a conducive environment for learning.
In an interview with Oluwaleke, he highlights his plans to improve the security situation within the school premises. The Rector of the institution, Dr.Abiodun Babatunde Oluseye will reportedly assign ten new dedicated bike riders for internal transport.
Additionally, he discusses efforts to improve the relationship between students, school security, and local police.
The President told the 9News Nigeria correspondent in an interview that he had successful discussions with the Ogun Guan Dong Free Trade Zone (China) and nearby companies like Viju and Quantum. These partnerships aim to provide students with favorable treatment for internships, job opportunities, and skill development.
Expressing concerns over false informations by any blogger, He made it known that he is sending a strict warning to bloggers inside and outside the school to be careful of the information they disseminate.

“Anticipating the new academic session, the SUG president promises an early release of the school students’ union calendar. Plans are also underway to bring in Integrated Corporate Service (ICS) to the school, enhancing students’ exposure to practical experiences”. He said.
The further announces a shift towards empowering student artisans by assigning school-related tasks to them.
