Ogun Commissioner urges worker to consider sports for total well being

In commemoration of this year’s Public Service Day Celebrations, Civil/Public Servants in the Ogun State Service have been urged to consider sports, which would help in their total wellbeing.

The Commissioner for Sports Development, Hon Wasiu Isiaka, who made this known while fielding questions from journalist shortly after the football matches commemorating the 2024 Public Service Day at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, commended the State workforce for their hard work and dedication to duty.

While urging the workers to continue to strive for excellence, which the State is known for, he submitted that the Public Service Week celebration demonstrated the commitment of mainstream civil servants and parastatals to work together towards a common goal of delivering efficient and effective services to the citizens of Ogun State.

The Commissioner, after congratulating the winning teams, advised workers to engage in sports and sporting activities, as this would help create a better workforce for the State and the nation at large, urging them to continue striving for excellence in the state.

“Today’s celebration showcases the spirit of teamwork and oneness among public servants in the State. Sports brings a lot of things together; oneness, spirit of friendship, bonding and many more. We have workers from the Parastatals coming together to play against their opponents from the various Ministries, alongside the Deputy Governor, the Head of Service, Permanent Secretaries and other eminent personalities, which shows that Ogun State is on the right track”, he said.

In a thrilling match between the female teams of the Mainstream of the Public Service and the Parastatals, the Mainstream defeated their counterparts by a lone goal, while the Mainstream’s male team fell the Parastatals’ team by a lone goal.
