A group in Okofia community under the aegis of the Progressives Youths of Okofia has taken to the streets of the community to peacefully protest against Mr Godwin Ikedife (President Okofia Development Union) and Mr Okwuchukwu Okoli (Financial Secretary of Okofia Development Union) over their style of leadership.
According to the chairman of the Youth group, Mr Amobi Okonkwo (Anunuebe Nnewi) while addressing the press during the protest early today told 9news Nigeria that the youths has been patient enough with the bad leadership style of Mr Godwin and Mr Okwuchukwu Okoli respectively and has choosing to end their illegal operations through peacefully Protesting round the community.
In his exact words, the Okofia community youth leader told our correspondence that the Youths has on several occasions written to the police, Nzukora Nnewi and the Nnewi traditional institutions on the prevailing sad circumstance, intimidations and gross financial misconduct going on In Okofia Development Union presently.
Speaking further, Mr Amobi said that Mr Godwin Ikedife and Mr Okwuchukwu Okoli’s bad leadership pattern has thrown their community into so many uncoutable problems that has ranged from gross Financial misconducts, Marginalization, Abuse of Power, impersonation, unlawful withdrawal in the unions account, undemocratic leadership and lots More.
The progressive Youths of Okofia further used the medium of the protest to call on Mr Godwin (president Okofia) and Mr Okwuchukwu (financial secretary) to immidately succumb to the will of the people by obeying the NO vote of confidence already passed against them at the executive level of the Okofia Development Union in the interest of peace and progress in the community.
