The traditional ruler of Umuoma Nekede Autonomous community in Owerri West local government area of Imo state Nigeria, HRH EZE MORRISON EKE, PhD. The (OMADIKE OF UMUOMA) has called on IGBO MONARCHS to step up actions to help reactivate the consciousness of the original Igbo tradition in IGBO land.

This was his statement while addressing pressing matters arising from the courtesy visit by the Nekede Federated Union NFU, the umbrella body of the old Nekede origin over the weekend.

While speaking with the press, the Monarch thanked the NFU for making it possible to sustain the platform for the progress and development of the land.

Eze OMADIKE however advised the union to stay strong and continue in this tempo to make the three arms of Nekede, namely Umualum, Umuoma and Umudibia a united entity in their sincere quest for higher Improvement and empowerment of the Nekedians.

In the pics is the original traditional (OBI EZE) palace of HRH MORRISON EKE OMADIKE-1 of Umuoma Nekede Autonomous community in Owerri West, Imo state Nigeria.

The picture showcases the original content of an IGBO palace know as OBI EZE in IGBO land. It also promotes the ambience of the true naturalness of Mud House used in the old days when the invention of zincs and ALUMACO, long spans and tiles have not arrived.

9News Nigeria reports that the history of a real IGBO ELDER cannot be complete without the history of the originality of the tribe.

And in a situation where the cultural heritage, mother language and traditional scenery of the land are missing, it is assumed that there was no existence.

However, the MONARCH had thought it wise to build the original Obi Eze palace to restore the beauty of the forebears in spite of the mansions built in his compound.

Our correspondent reports that the local palace serves as an archive for picnic and research studies in Igbo land having its roof and widows built with the local palm front and its floor and wall with mud. The beauty the inside has is worth showcasing to the world to promote the Igbo traditional heritage and pride.

Eze OMADIKE has therefore ENJOINED Ndi IGBO to revive the traditional contents of IGBO origins to avert its extinction.

The Nekede Federated Union NFU visit was colourfully celebrated in the Obi Eze OMADIKE having x-rayed the policy statement to Improve the land as superb.

In furtherance, the caretaker government of Umuoma Nekede Autonomous community led by PG UCHE NWANERI appraised the NFU for the peace restored in Umuoma and promise to replicate such to the five towns in Umuoma Nekede.

Among the sensitive deliberations, the Nekede Federated Union NFU having redeemed their Promise made to Umuoma Community further promised to install a power address system in the Obi Eze OMADIKE to promote the palace on the hosting of subsequent meetings.

From my research on tradition, I found out that it is an inherited, established, or customary pattern of thought, action, or behaviour (such as a religious practice or a social custom of a people or tribe.

The literal definition also has it as a belief or story or a body of beliefs or stories relating to the past that are commonly accepted as historical though not verifiable.

It can be said the handing down of information, beliefs, and customs by word of mouth or by example from one generation to another without written instruction.

Tradition can also be defined as a cultural continuity in social attitudes, customs, and institutions, characteristic manner, method, or style.

This has given rise to the originality of the Tradition of an IGBO entity as showcased in this News.

The Caretaker team members present at the meeting were, Chief Ofor- na- Ogu, Chief Omenma, women leaders, youths leaders, Community Chairmen, Representative of Government, HON. public relations officer PRINCELY ONYENWE and others.
