Few hours ago the Hon. PG Uche NWANERI of Umuoma Nekede in Owerri West local government area was on inspection tour alongside THE PRO, as directed by the state government to access the on-going work at the project site along the major Nekede/Ihiagwa road.
From our findings, it was confirmed that the LEO-9 construction company handling the road work are very eager to finish the 45km road as scheduled to Obinze despite the rain.
While Speaking with the media team, the Project Engineer Mr Daniel stated categorically that the work will be completed with quality materials already in use, having in mind the importance of the road to the generality of the people and road users in the area.
Engr Daniel added that despite the bad effect of the rainny weather, work is still going on to cushion the need of the people as directed by Imo Governor Hope Uzodinma who charged the contracting firm to complete the road.
The interface by the Nekede Community leadership will be said to beneficial to all and sundry who ply Naze/ FEDPONEK/ Nekede/ Ihiagwa/ FUTO Obinze road.
The community reps however charged the contractor to do a solid work to stand the test of time which was admitted heartedly by the Engineers seen on sight working at the time of this report.
The community want to also use this good medium to thank the Imo state government peddled by Senator Hope Uzodinma for keeping to his promise to make this road motorable again after all set backs to halt the work. We cannot thank you enough.
