
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike, has hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, declaring that only those who choose to ignore visible developments would claim that the President has not delivered on his promises.
Wike made this remarks on Saturday, May 10, 2025, while inspecting several ongoing infrastructure projects across Abuja, the nation’s capital.
He emphasized that the the level of transformation under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, particularly in FCT, speaks volumes of the government’s commitment to development.
“Mr President has given first-class infrastructure to Abuja. All of you can attest to the fact that indeed, Abuja has really changed. So, we are happy for it”, the former Rivers State Governor said.
Highlighting a series of completed and ongoing projects, Wike said the visible improvements around the capital city are testaments to the President’s performance.
According to him, the administration has kept its words, and the people are reaping the benefits.
“I want to thank God Almighty for providing the right leadership to Mr President to provide the dividends of democracy to the resident of Abuja. I don’t see why anybody would say that Mr President has not done well, except you are just blind. Except, you don’t want to admit something that you know is good “, he said.
Wike revealed that key infrastructure projects are scheduled to be commissioned in celebration of President Tinubu’s second year in office, these include the Gishiri Interchange Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX) to Wassa Junction, the renovated International Conference Centre, the major road networks such as the N5 route.
He also mentioned developments in both satellite towns and central city including the anticipated inauguration of Abuja Greater Water Project.
“We have so many roads, both in satellite towns and the city, it will take us about two weeks to Inaugurate the project’s”, he noted.
The Minister further stated that what brings fulfilment to the public servant like himself is knowing that their work brings joy and relief to citizens.
“What makes us happy is when people are happy, because at the end of the day, we are working for the people. I have said it before, leadership is a major issue. When you have the right leadership, people would benefit from it”, Wike concluded.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu marked his first anniversary in office on May 29, 2024. As his administration approaches its second year, preparations are under way to celebrate the strides made in infrastructure and governance comes May 29, 2025.
