By Princely Onyenwe, Imo (9News Nigeria) –
The quest by the Buhari Led administration to expand Nigeria’s capability in local refining of crude oil has continued to gain grip with the OPAC Modular Refinery in Kwale town, Delta State now set for commissioning in December 2021 as revealed.
Information reaching 9News Nigeria reports that the private refinery will be commissioned by Mr President as scheduled.
However, the refinery was licensed by the Buhari administration in 2017, with the developers quickly swinging into its construction and installations under effective government supervision.
And with a capacity to process 10,000 barrels of crude oil per day, this Modular Refinery is expected to help the country overcome the burden of fuel importation.
Apart from the long term benefit of helping the country end its perennial importation of refined petroleum products, this Modular Refinery is also set to recruit hundreds of Nigerians into its workforce, especially from its immediate host community, thereby making it an economically essential project for the country.
Having such progress to its actualisation stage is indeed a plus to Nigeria Government as clamoured by the cross of interviewers in the public domain.
