President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has praised the growing number of governors aligning with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking during a strategic APC meeting held in Abuja on Thursday, President Tinubu disclosed that the party now boasts 23 governors, with more expected to join in the coming weeks.
“Today, we have 23 governors and are still counting.
“We postponed the congress until December to accommodate more members who are coming.” Tinubu said.
In a veiled swipe at opposition parties, the President described their alliance as a “coalition of confusion,” suggesting that recent defections reflect widespread dissatisfaction within rival platforms.
“It’s not a bad idea to abandon the sinking ship and be absent from the coalition of confusion,” he added.
President Tinubu also urged APC governors to respond to the growing concerns of Nigerians at the grassroots level.
He emphasized that political victories must translate into tangible improvements in the lives of ordinary citizens.
“Nigerians are still complaining at the grassroots to you, the governors.
“You have to wet the grass small and lead the way in delivering progressive change to Nigerians.” He said.
