Oshiomhole increases Edo minimum wage to N25,000

Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has announced the increment in salaries of workers in the states civil service.

The pay rise from N18, 000 to N25,000 is expected to take immediate effect.

Governor Oshiomhole announced this during his address to workers during the 2016 May Day celebrations at the Samuel Ogbemidua Stadium in Benin City, the state capital.

He also promised to pay outstanding arrears to civil servants, particularly the staff of Egor Local Government Area within two weeks.

In their address, the union leaders in the state among other requests called on the Governor to rescind his decision to scrap the state pensions board.
