The National PRESIDENT of NIGERIA Union of Journalists NUJ, Chief (Deacon) CHRIS ISIGUZO has condemned in totality PARALLEL groups parading themselves as NUJ Imo state Council.
This statement was made yesterday at a state media Summit organized by NUJ Imo state Council led by CHIEF Chris Akaraonye.
The union National PRESIDENT has therefore issued out a serious warning to anyother parallel group or group of persons parading themselves as Caretaker of NUJ in imo state and ask the Department of state security and the police to arrest such persons FORTHWITH.
ISIGUZO made this known to Imo Journalists present at the summit and cautioned imposters of the union to as a matter of urgency and decorum in the union desist from such act and submit themselves to the only approved and authentic recognised NUJ IMO STATE COUNCIL ably led by its Chairman Chris Akaraonye.
He futher stated that NIGERIA Union of Journalists (NUJ) is an umbrella body of all practicing Journalist in NIGERIA, the fourth estate of the realm and it is duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission with National, Regional and State levels.
He therefore charged the leadership of Imo NUJ to stay strong and Continue their operations in Imo state as backed up by law.In his words, ” those disgruntled elements who paraded themselves as another NUJ group in imo state are not recognized and any of them who are not ready to toe the line of Akaraonye led NUJ can go and float another organization and call it a different name on their own peril not NUJ”
He however re- uthenticated the operations of NUJ Imo state Council led by CHIEF Christopher Akaraonye.
In a related Development, the Union has called on NAWOJ to adhere to the rules of conduct of the union and follow the leadership of mrs Dorathy NNAJI who stood in for NAWOJ ELECTION and won her rival VIVIAN OTTI.
On this development, the National body of NAWOJ has issued a disclaimer notice on barrister VIVIAN OTTI and group and warned her to stop parading herself as NAWOJ Chairman Imo state chapter.
The copy of the disclaimer notice is attached herewith and signed by its National PRESIDENT LADI BALA and National secretary HELEN UDOFA.
The disclaimer was dated the 24-05-2021 warning VIVIAN OTTI Esq to desist from her desperate attempt to turn the laws of the association on its head.
The issuance of this disclaimer has stoped her from parading herself as Imo state NAWOJ Chairman, hence, the election which brought Dorathy NNAJI as the winner of the NAWAOJ Election was duly supervised by the officers duly assigned by the National secretariat of NAWAOJ inline with the constitution of the union which according to them is their grundnorm.
This report therefore cancels the former report that announced VIVIAN OTTI winner of the election and call on the public to take note desist from futher transactions as regards imo state NAWOJ with VIVIAN OTTI.
