The Oyo State Commissioner for information and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun has described the certification of the Ibadan based tour broker, Absolute Success Global Travel and Tours, the owner of the popular Ufitfly brand by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) as an indication of the enhanced good business environment in the state.
The commissioner made the call in a congratulatory statement issued and made available to newsmen to celebrate the firm that is a principal partner to the ministry on its drive to develop tourism in the state on its recent accomplishment.
The firm by the certification has graduated from a travel agent to a full Destination Management Company by the IATA that is responsible for regulating the aviation travel industry across the globe. Travel agents and agencies apply for IATA certifications to demonstrate their superior qualifications.
“This firm has been our principal partner in our drive to transform Oyo State into a huge tourism destination hub owing to our numerous tourists’ sites, the development that will boost the revenue of the state and create huge employment opportunity for youths in the state.
“And this development has gone to show how conducive is the business environment created by our Governor for private businesses to thrive in the state which served as great encouragement to the entrepreneurs”, Dr. Olatubosun noted.
The leadership of Oyo State chapter of Nigerian Union of Journalist (NUJ) has also felicitated with the team leader of Ufitfly, Evangelist Ajibola Ogunkeyede for the great feat achieved in the tourism and hospitality sector in Nigeria.
Comrade Demola Babalola, the Oyo NUJ boss in a statement issued to congratulate the firm said the union is proud to identify with Ufitfly that has been operating from Ibadan for almost 16 years with many branches around the country without any blemish.
“I’m particularly happy with the progress made by this journalist friendly firm that had supported our members in no small measures to ease air travelling issues and making travel affordable for all classes of people”, said Oyo NUJ boss.
Speaking in the same vein, the Chairman of Sports Writers Association of Nigerian (SWAN) Comrade Niyi Alebiosu has also congratulated Ufitfly saying “this brand has been a partner in progress to the sports journalists in the state and we cannot but to felicitate with them on this great accomplishment”.
“Ufitfly apart from its huge support to the game of golf has in the past sponsored sports journalists to international tournaments and has promised to sponsor another two journalists to the upcoming 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo that will start on 23 July. We are happy to identify with its success”, said Oyo SWAN boss.
