Splash FM 105.5, a radio broadcasting station in Ibadan, Oyo State has banned all Naira Marley’s songs amid rumours surrounding the death of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, popularly known as MohBad
In a protest against the untimely demise of Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, also known as MohBad, Splash FM 105.5, a prominent radio station in Ibadan, Oyo State has made the decision to ban all songs by Naira Marley.
The announcement of this ban was made on Monday by Aderonke Adesola, one of the presenters at the radio station. She took to their official X (Twitter) account to share the news.
According to the post, the management of Splash FM has placed Naira Marley’s songs under a “Not to Be Broadcast” category on their radio frequency.
The post stated, “Good evening team. In light of recent events surrounding MohBad’s death
According to the post, Marley’s songs have been placed on “Not to Be Broadcast” on the radio frequency by the station’s management
The post read, “Good evening team. In view of the sensitive nature around the death of Mohbad and the criminal procedure, the police have commenced, I will urge us all to exercise discretion.
“To this effect, Naira Marley’s songs have become NTBB ( not to be broadcast) on our station till further notice. This is with immediate effect. Thank you.”
9News Nigeria learnt that the popular FM station banned the playing of songs by Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley from airing on the station till further notice.
Naira Marley has been criticized over the circumstances surrounding the sudden death of MohBad among other artists.
