A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dino Melaye, has told President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to prepare to leave the Presidential Villa ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Melaye, a former Kogi Senator, expressed confidence that the ADC would defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027 election, arguing that Nigerians are increasingly demanding a change in leadership.
Speaking during an interview with Arise TV, Melaye cited economic hardship, insecurity, hunger and other challenges facing Nigerians as factors that could influence the outcome of the next presidential election.
He maintained that the ADC has a strong chance of winning because, according to him, Nigerians are dissatisfied with the current administration and are ready or a new political direction.
Melaye said that the ADC is positioning itself as a credible alternative and expressed optimism that the opposition coalition can secure victory in 2027.
The former Kogi Senator also criticised the Federal Government’s borrowing and budget implementation, questioning aspects of its management of public finances and government contracts.
The ADC chieftain further call for a credible and violence-free 2027 election, stressing that Nigerians should be allowed to freely determine the country’s next government through their votes.
In a direct message to President Tinubu, Melaye said the President should “pack his bags” ahead of the 2027 election, predicting that the APC would lose power.
His comments come amid growing political realignments and preparations by opposition parties as the country moves closer to the 2027 general elections.
