Minister of Communications - Dr. Isa Pantami

Nigerians have taken to their social media accounts to shout and clamour for the resignation of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Isa Ali Ibrahim also known as Sheikh Pantami.

Social media users on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter have continued to lash out criticisms and reasons why Isa Pantami should not continue to be at the helm of the countries information database.

Some of the tweets:

Men of @HQNigerianArmy get ambushed time and again. NAF jets get gunned down. Politically motivated or not, we can no longer trust you with our comms ministry. Not when we still fighting insurgency. A lover of Osama , and Al Qaeda shld not be out communications minister #PantamiResignNow

PantamiResign #PantamiResignNow is a mission that must be accomplished! We can’t have such people as leaders in a fragile country with a baby democracy.

It was More troubling when people with extremist ideologies were in charge of sensitive national data.

Alleged AL Qaeda minister should resign immediately #PantamiResign #Pantami

The allegation is compelling. Pantami should open up. Days of double agents are gone.

Isa Pantami has been under fire since last week after news surfaced that the USA has blacklisted the minister for his involvements and activities linking him with terrorist organisations like Boko Haram. Isa Pantami on the other hand has refuted the report and every information suggestive of his link to Islamic extremism and terrorism.

Isa Ali Pantami had also demanded a public apology from the media outlet that first published the news of the USA blacklists.
