The National Executive Committee meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the Federal Capital Territory FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, has pulled out of all precious agreements reached to resolve the crisis
Wike in a statement vowed to fight on until justice is attained.
According to him, governors of the party led by Seyi Makinde of Oyo State reneged on an agreement for Sam Anyanwu to remain the party’s recognized National Secretary.
He says the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC had at the weekend boycotted the North Central Zonal Congress of the party which held in Jos, because the letter of notifications was signed by the Deputy Secretary, Uche Okoye and not Samuel Anyanwu.
Consequently, upon this development, the PDP has postponed its 99th National Executive Committee meeting.
In a statement signed by the party’s National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, the NEC was postponed to allow room for the former Senate President Bukola Saraki-led reconciliation committee to carry out its assignment.
The escalating tensions threaten to deepen the party’s divisions as it prepares for the 2027 general elections, with analysts warning potential electoral consequences if the crisis persists.
